On the whole, it’s pretty easy to tell whether a method of working with people should be labeled psychotherapy, or should be considered as an educational approach. Psychotherapies usually have as their primary goal some changes in a client’s moods and the behaviors related to those moods, and although there may be associated cognitive changes, the latter are not the major concern of the treatment.
